Method products show, both from what their producst can do, and from the low key but extremely elegant packaging, just what so many of us have always known: less is more. I've used a few of their products and simply put, they work. What a novel concept.

I was skeptical about the Method product line until I tried it. Packages look cool and more importantly, the product works.

And then there's Caldrea, founded by an escapee from Target corporate. She figured out that there was room in the market for an upscale cleaning product with aromatherapy-type scents, and had the branding sense necessary to pull it off.

Tom, I am a big Whole Foods shopper. I live two blocks away from one and use it like a convenience store. What impresses me about Method is that they got deep enough into general distribution to show up on the "other" grocer's shelves. And, in spite of my willingness to spend more at WF for products that help Al Gore and me, this Method stuff is reasonably priced.

What I find most encouraging is that this earth-friendy, me-friendly, non-animal-testing, nicely-designed, effective, smartly-marketed stuff is at Stop & Shop near the chemical warfare products.

As many have remarked since Mickie D's and all the other cholesterol pushers started selling salads, "maybe marketers and the American public aren't such a lost cause after all." Of course, cynical me, I figured salads were on the menus of fast-bloat joints as a defense to the tort lawyers when they are done raiding tobacco's coffers and come after these grease dispensers. (Somebody get me a Big Mac with extra cheese. All this ranting is bringing out the carnivore in me.)

"Clean" design meets "clean" products? What a concept. How long has it taken to get this far?

A short trip to Whole Foods will reveal a host of products like Method; products that won't kill you while using them.

And yes, a "quieter" design feels better than someone "barking" at me.

Oh...forgot. Shhh, keep this quiet, too; there is hope for this planet :-)
